Tom Hanks and Apple TV+ are sailing back into the Battle of the Atlantic with Tom Hanks Greyhound 2, a follow-up to their surprise 2020 hit.
The sequel will once again star and be penned by Hanks, with production slated to begin in January 2026 in Sydney, Australia.

The original Greyhound was adapted from C.S. Forester’s 1955 novel The Good Shepherd, following Captain Ernest Krause (Tom Hanks) as he commands the USS Keeling through a deadly U-boat assault in early 1942.
Sony Pictures initially produced the film, but when the pandemic shuttered theaters in 2020, Apple TV+ acquired it for streaming.
Critically praised for its tight pacing and immersive naval combat, Greyhound also scored an Oscar nomination for Best Sound.
Greyhound 2: Production and Returning Team
According to Deadline, Tom Hanks Greyhound 2 will reassemble much of the original creative team. Aaron Schneider returns to direct, and Stephen Graham and Elisabeth Shue are expected to reprise their roles alongside Hanks.
Hanks’ production company, Playtone Pictures, has been developing the sequel since 2022 under its Apple TV+ first-look deal.
