James Marsden Boards Your Friends and Neighbors Season 2 at Apple TV+

James Marsden Joins Your Friends and Neighbors

James Marsden is officially stepping into the morally murky world of Your Friends and Neighbors. Variety has confirmed that the Emmy-nominated actor will star as a series regular in Season 2 of the acclaimed Apple TV+ dramedy, created by Jonathan Tropper.

The casting announcement arrives just days after the show’s Season 1 debut on April 11, 2025. The Jon Hamm-led series has already drawn praise for its darkly comic take on suburbia and secrets, and Apple wasted no time in greenlighting a second season — a renewal made back in November 2024.

Marsden’s addition to Your Friends and Neighbors marks another strong move in what’s become a wildly versatile streaming career.

Fresh off starring roles in Hulu’s Paradise and Freevee’s Jury Duty — where he played a hilarious meta version of himself and earned an Emmy nod — Marsden brings both dramatic weight and comedic precision to every role. He’s also set to reprise his iconic turn as Cyclops in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday and has appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog, Enchanted, Dead to Me, and HBO’s Westworld.

What to Expect from Season 2

James Marsden Joins Your Friends and Neighbors

Season 1 of Your Friends and Neighbors followed Jon Hamm’s Andrew “Coop” Cooper — a disgraced hedge fund manager-turned-suburban thief — as he spiraled into theft, deception, and deadly secrets inside the pristine community of Westmont Village.

While Apple has yet to reveal specifics about Marsden’s role, insiders hint that he’ll be a central player in unraveling Season 2’s core mystery. Whether friend, neighbor, or threat, Marsden’s character is said to challenge the already fragile balance of Westmont’s elite social structure.
