Hollywood Producer and Trump Ambassador Plan Architect Eyes Domestic Expansion

Steven Paul, the seasoned producer behind hit titles like Ghost Rider and Baby Geniuses, is once again making headlines.

This time, it’s not for his work behind the camera but for a bold move in real estate and production.

Paul has officially acquired Avenue Six Studios, a compact yet versatile studio located in Van Nuys, California. The acquisition aligns with his ongoing mission to reinvigorate domestic film production and strengthen Hollywood’s infrastructure.

Paul, known for his strategic vision and extensive experience in both independent and studio-backed films, aims to use the new facility as the primary base for SP Media Group’s future projects.

His move is also a cornerstone in the broader Hollywood initiative that includes former President Donald Trump and actor Jon Voight, targeting runaway production and boosting local film economies.

The Vision Behind Avenue Six Studios

From New York Streets to West Coast Sets

Avenue Six Studios offers four soundstages and a meticulously designed backlot that replicates the classic charm of a New York City street.

According to Paul, this setup is not just cosmetic—it’s functional and designed to attract a variety of filmmakers looking for authentic, adaptable shooting environments.

“We’re committed to making films in Hollywood and making Avenue Six Studios the most producer-friendly studio for filmmakers from around the world,” said Paul in a recent statement. “I currently have three productions slated for the studio this year and look forward to welcoming more projects.”

This purchase signals Steven Paul’s intent to lead by example—shooting films domestically while advocating for national policies that make the U.S. a more attractive filming location.

A Strategic Role in the Trump-Hollywood Alliance

Incentives, Tariffs, and the Battle Against Runaway Production

Steven Paul is more than a film producer; he’s a key architect behind Jon Voight’s Trump-backed Hollywood ambassador plan.

This plan proposes a comprehensive federal film incentive program alongside strategic tariffs aimed at curbing the tide of U.S. productions going overseas.

Paul, together with Voight and longtime collaborator Scott Karol, is lobbying industry powerhouses like the Motion Picture Association, SAG-AFTRA, and IATSE to back the initiative.

While most of Hollywood favors tax credits, Paul’s team is not afraid to explore bold solutions to keep film dollars—and jobs—within American borders.

SP Media Group and the Paramount Partnership

Big Plans with Big Players

Paul’s SP Media Group is no stranger to the big leagues.

With an active co-financing agreement with Paramount Pictures, the company continues to churn out high-stakes, high-quality action thrillers. And the acquisition of Avenue Six Studios is expected to further streamline operations and reduce production costs.

Last year, Paul’s ambitions became even more evident when he sought to acquire a majority interest in National Amusements Inc., the holding company behind Paramount Global. Though that deal is still developing, it’s a testament to Paul’s deep influence in the entertainment industry.

Atlas Comics Revival and Multi-Format Studio Use

Steven Paul is also behind the recent revival of the Atlas Comics brand, originally founded by Marvel icon Martin Goodman. This initiative, combined with the expansion of Avenue Six, marks a significant leap in building a vertically integrated production pipeline—from IP development to final execution.

Scott Karol, president of SP Media Group and Atlas Comics, emphasized the studio’s multi-purpose versatility. “The studios will be used primarily for film and television production, while its smaller sound stages will be used for branded content, music videos, photography, social media campaigns, podcasts, workshops, and industry events,” Karol noted.

Upcoming Project: The Last Gunfight

One of the first major films to be shot at Avenue Six Studios is The Last Gunfight, starring Jon Voight and produced by Paul.

Set to release on May 27, the film follows a rogue crew infiltrating an underground tournament of elite assassins—an adrenaline-fueled storyline that aligns perfectly with SP Media’s action-packed filmography.
